Precamp

During the winter several massive snow storms caused the 5 year old canopy structure over the summer theatre seating area to collapse. As a result, the Front of House lighting pipe (which we had suspended from the truss structure ourselves in 2005) needed to be replaced. As the structure collapsed, it also hit the lighting pipes over the front of the stage (which we had installed in 2004) causing them to bend and to also need replacing. We rented a 40 foot aerial boom lift to get up to the new truss. Here are some pictures and videos of the process of replacing these pipes.

One good thing was that Alex, Sam, and I got to miss teambuilding to work on the pipe. Here comes the rest of the staff on their way to do teambuilding behind the theatre.

When we finished for the day I gave Ro-Z a ride in the lift.

I then drove the lift up to the office parking lot where I spent 2 hours after dinner giving various staff members rides up and down.

The joy rides were interrupted by the first of our weekly P.A.T.H.O.S. meetings. (Performing Arts, The Heads Of Shop)

After all the excitement with the lift, it was time to take care of business as usual, lighting the orientation meeting.
